Workplace incivilities, often tolerated out of politeness, fear, indifference, or the hope that bad behaviour will disappear, are costly for organizations. They also make life miserable, erode workplace well-being and negatively influence careers. In this morning session, we explore the nature of workplace incivilities, their costs, why relationships in fact matter, and concrete things you can do about them.

Join us for an information session by our proud CBC Member Dr. Louise Lambert Editor of the Middle East Journal of Positive Psychology, to hear some of these views, on how to Make Work Better and to tackle workplace incivilities for greater well-being.

About the speaker: Dr. Louise Lambert, PhD, is a registered Canadian psychologist, researcher and former professor with 25 years of experience in counselling, mental health, education, and primary healthcare. She has lived in the UAE for 18 years doing organizational and educational consulting, as well as teaching and research in the field of happiness and well-being. Her expertise is in positive psychology and the empirical strategies used to attain greater subjective well-being. As such, she has several peer-reviewed empirical publications in positive psychology intervention applications. Many of these have been conducted in the MENA region.

She is the Head of Happiness Programming & Policy Design with HappinessMatters.org and her work includes the design, delivery and assessment of the positive education programs at Dubai College and Kuwait's AlNowair Foundation, with prior managerial and employee training with clients such as Cigna Insurance Middle East, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, KAUST (KSA), KidsFirst Group, and EGA as examples.
